Welcome to the Detroit Tigers Dream Season blog!!! This simulation (powered by Strat-O-Matic) will pit the very best teams in Tigers history against each other in a full 162 game season to see which team is the very best ever! All four of the Tigers World Series champions are here, as well as 15 of the 16 teams that competed in the playoffs (sorry, 1972 Tigers, I don't have that season so we invited the 1973 Tigers to this league in your place). EVERY decade is represented in this 24 team league.
This league will require very little effort, and I hope it will be enjoyable to watch the season unfold and that all will gain an appreciation of the Tiger greats across all eras. This will be very unlike other Retro Leagues we have done as there will be no player draft and no trades/waivers/etc. We will all pick a team (or possibly teams) to "manage" and I will simulate 10 days of action at a time. Computer Managers are already generated for every team, so you would just let me know of any lineup, rotation, or strategic changes you would like to make throughout the season. There will be four divisions (Briggs, Navin, Fetzer, and Ilitch) with six teams each. The season will end with the four division champions battling in the playoffs, with the potential for actual playing the games 'live' for anyone that is interested.
